A Simple, High-Protein Lunch That Makes HCG 2.0 Easy
Hi, I’m Adrienne Dr. Zach's sister. I spend my days planning meals in a hospital setting—mostly for geriatric patients who have to maintain muscle mass while managing heart health and inflammation. So everything I do revolves around one simple principle:
"High protein. Omega 3 nutrient-dense. Repeatable on the reg."
Sound familiar? That’s why I love HCG 2.0. There are so many parallels between how I feed the patients at the hospital and how I eat on protocol. You don’t need complicated recipes—you need meals that are simple, strategic, and sustainable.
This tuna salad is one of those staples.
It’s also inspired by so many of you that contribute recipes to the InisdeOut Wellness social media pages. I’ve seen countless variations of tuna bowls, lettuce wraps, and quick fixes—and I built this recipe around what actually works in real life. It's where I first saw the recipe for the the MCT Oil Mayo.
Why This Recipe Works (HCG 2.0 + Physiology)
Tuna is one of the easiest ways to succeed on HCG 2.0.
High protein → supports muscle preservation
Very low fat (naturally) → allows your body to burn stored fat
Rich in Omega-3s → supports heart health and reduces inflammation
Highly satiating → keeps you full on fewer calories
The leaner the protein, the more you can eat. Remember your PFC favorites.
That’s the key to HCG 2.0. You’re not starving—you’re being strategic. And when you combine tuna with MCT Oil Mayo, you’re adding just enough functional fat to support energy without slowing fat loss or ketosis.
The Recipe
Ingredients:
1 can or pouch tuna (in water)(Adrienne tip: Starkist Tuna Creations – Lemon Pepper is my go-to when I’m in a bind)
1–2 tbsp MCT Oil Mayo (make a batch for the week—trust me)
1–2 tbsp diced celery
1–2 tbsp diced onion (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional spices: dill, garlic powder, paprika, lemon juice
Romaine or butter lettuce leaves for wrapping
Instructions:
Drain tuna if using canned.
Mix tuna with MCT mayo until desired consistency.
Add celery, onion, and spices.
Scoop into lettuce leaves or eat as-is.
That’s it.
Nutritional Highlights
🥩 High protein → supports lean muscle mass
🔥 Low calorie → ideal for fat loss
🧠Omega-3 rich → brain + heart health
🥬 Low carb → supports fat-burning state
✅ Quick & repeatable → perfect weekday lunch
Family Version (Real Life Matters)
If your kids are tuna eaters—great. If not… you’re not alone. Mine aren’t either.
To make this a family friendly lunch, add some carbs. Kids need carbs. You and I, we have enough carbs stored away in our belly fat and under arm fat. A bit in my neck too, sadly. No need for us to add more carbs because our energy is stored and HCG is the mechanism that taps into it so we can use it.
But for your tuna eating kids, here you go:
Make them a tuna sandwich on whole grain bread
Add a side of:
Sun Chips
Raw carrots
Fresh veggies
Same base meal. Minimal extra effort. Tomorrow's dinner recipe will showcase the family friendly option. It's hard to eat something completely different from the rest of the family. Family friendly options keep it in the family.
You stay on protocol. They stay happy. Everyone eats.
Pro Tip
Keep a few tuna packets (like Starkist Tuna Creations)Â on hand at all times.
They’re perfect for:
Busy workdays
Travel
“I have nothing to eat” moments
Pair with celery or wrap in lettuce and you’re covered. If you have the MCT Oil Mayo made, even better.
