At some point, you’re going to crave something that feels a little more… normal.
Something that reminds you of real life.Something that feels like a meal you’d actually choose, not just something you’re sticking to.
That’s where this comes in.
A simple burger, but done right.
🛒 Ingredients
Base (HCG 2.0 Friendly):
4–6 oz extra lean ground beef (or bison if available in your area)
1 tsp MCT oil
1/4 cup sliced onions
Large lettuce leaves (butter lettuce or romaine work well)
1–2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Sea salt, pepper
Optional Add-Ons:
Tomato slices
Pickles
Mustard
👉 Ground turkey is also a great option here if you want to go leaner—but balsamic does a great job dressing up beef, so this is a nice way to mix things up.
🧠 Let’s Talk About Beef
Beef isn’t as lean as chicken or turkey. But that doesn’t mean it’s off-limits.
During the low-calorie phase (P2) of HCG 2.0, it’s about being mindful, not restrictive.
Choosing extra lean cuts or bison allows you to incorporate beef without completely stepping outside the framework.
👉 Sustainability matters. If including meals like this helps you stay consistent, it’s a win.
🧠 Why MCT Oil?
During the HCG 2.0 protocol, we prioritize MCT oil because it’s rapidly absorbed and used for energy, helping support ketosis rather than being stored.
There’s also strong belief that MCTs may help mobilize longer-chain fats—the kind more associated with arterial buildup.
Once you’ve reached your goal weight, you can reintroduce more flavorful oils like olive or avocado oil. But for now, MCT oil keeps things efficient and clean.
🍳 Instructions
Form ground beef (or bison) into a patty
Heat MCT oil in a pan over medium heat
Cook burger to desired doneness
In the same pan, lightly sauté onions
Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the burger and onions as they finish cooking
🌶 Flavor Boost
Pro Tip: Balsamic + Sriracha Combo. Balsamic vinegar gives this burger a slightly sweet, tangy finish. Add a small drizzle of sriracha for contrast—heat + acidity + depth.
This is how you make simple food taste surprisingly good.
🥬 Build Your Wrap
Place burger in lettuce leaves
Top with onions
Add optional toppings (mustard, pickles, tomato)
Wrap and enjoy
No bun. No crash. No compromise.
👨👩👧👦 Family-Friendly Version
This one’s easy.
For the kids:
Make the burgers a little bigger
Add a slice of cheese
Put it on a bun
Serve with:
Fries on the side
Now everyone’s eating the same meal—just adjusted for their needs.
💡 A Quick Note on Kids & Nutrition
Taste is an acquired sense.
If kids grow up eating real food—meats, vegetables, balanced meals—they learn to enjoy it.
If they grow up on processed, convenience foods, that becomes their default. You don’t have to eliminate fun foods like burgers and fries. You just have to build them on a better foundation.
Invest in their habits early.
🔁 Why This Meal Works
High protein → supports fat loss
Satisfying → reduces cravings for “cheat meals”
Flexible → works for you and your family
Familiar → keeps you mentally engaged
And maybe most importantly, it proves you don’t have to give up the foods you love—you just have to do them differently.
