I love getting positive feedback from my dieters regarding their experience on the HCG 2.0 diet protocol. Most of them speak only of the amount of weight that is lost or that it was easier than the original HCG diet, but the email below that I received from Melanie was of particular interest to me because it addresses positive side-effects of HCG outside of weight loss. You’ve probably heard of pregnant woman having a glow to them. Many HCG dieters often speak of a euphoria while on the HCG supplement. Whether some, all or none can be attributed directly to the HCG hormone is difficult to say, but it’s certainly worth noting. Read the email from Melanie below. Not only does she describe this feeling, but she also suggests additional positive side-effects such as the elimination of her hot flashes and, in Malanie’s own words, “I’m not craving copious amounts of red wine.” See below…
If you’re unable to read the small font in the photo above, I pasted the text below. My response and answer to her questions follows.
Good morning Dr. Zach,
First off, this is a great program, makes 100% sense (for the diet as well as lifestyle) and my daughters and I are experiencing very good results. Day 8 for me and down 6 pounds—being 52 and menopausal, I’m pleased—9 more to go.
I have a couple of questions: while I was not a sugar addict prior to starting, I still have been having headaches every day—I’m treating with Advil that somewhat helps, but wondered if you might know a reason. Heck, I could just have a bug for all I know.
Second, I love HCG. My hot flashes are gone, my appetite is in check and I’m not craving copious amounts of red wine J! Can you explain the science as to why one couldn’t stay on this long term, even after transitioning to a non-VLCD lifestyle? I’m not interested in doing estrogen again, as regardless of what my Dr. says, one gains weight. Which is what every other woman I know has experienced as well.
I look forward to your response and I will be writing a very positive review on Amazon and FB.
My response and answers to Melanie’s HCG Diet questions
Hi Melanie. Thanks for the nice email and the questions. It’s always good to know that what you’re doing is helping people. Regarding the headaches, I’m thinking that those will subside in the next day or two. It could be a bit of detox or just the fact that some people react differetnly. I included a link below to a whole food supplement that I really love. I recommend it for everything. It’s a cure-all. It’s called Juice Plus and I’ve been taking it since it was first introduced to me when I was in chiropractic school.
You know, that’s a good question and I do get it periodically. Obviously HCG is prevalent during pregnancy in huge concentrations and pregnant women often experience a certain amount of euphoria. Whether you can attribute none or all of that to the HCG, would be hard to say. I really don’t think there would be any danger if you were to stay on the supplement. However from weight loss standpoint, the reason we take you off of it is so that you don’t acclimate to the hormone which would render it less effective. If you’re right about the red wine, maybe I should give it a try. Especially with the holidays coming up. Keep in touch and reviews are tremendously appreciated. I’m working on a second book about more generalized wellness topics. I’m hoping to have it out by the spring. I’ll let you know. Best of luck!
