Am I allowed Miracle Noodles on my HCG diet?
Miracle Noodles – Yes or No?
As an HCG weight loss practitioner of InsideOut Wellness and HCG Weight Loss, I often get asked about new products that didn’t exist when Dr. Simeons was conducting research at his HCG clinic in Rome and whether these new innovations in food are allowable on the HCG diet.
Miracle Noodles are made primarily from soluble fiber. Most of the fiber in our diet is in the form of insoluble fiber which adds bulk to our stool but doesn’t get absorbed as nutrients. Soluble fiber, such as what is found in Miracle Noodles, acts as an electrolyte and attracts water turning it into gel, slowing digestion. It acts as a filler without adding the calories. In addition, it helps lower cholesterol. To learn more about fiber and how it relates to net carbs, CLICK HERE.
My initial reaction is to advise dieters to stick with what has worked in the past.
The thing you have to remember about the HCG diet is that the HCG diet is entirely anecdotal. The concept of the HCG diet has it’s foundation in science and human physiology, but the protocol, such as allowable foods and calorie count, are derived from what was available to Dr. Simeon and his patients in 1940’s Italy. Obviously, engineered food products, such as Miracle Noodles, were not available when Dr. Simeon was treating his weight loss patients prior to the publishing of his manuscript, Pounds and Inches; A New Approach to Obesity. As a result, the only way to determine if Miracle Noodles and similar products will work on the HCG diet is to use them while on the HCG diet. Unfortunately, most dieters do not want to risk sacrificing their success to try new products. My advice is to try them for a meal or two per week and see if/how it effects your results. If you feel it stalls your weight loss, refrain… and let us know about it so we can pass on to our other dieters. In fact, like us on FACEBOOK if you have anything to share.
It’s been my experience that Miracle Noodles eaten with 3 to 4 meals per week on the HCG diet protocol will have no adverse effect. If you experience the same, please share. If you’d like more information on the HCG diet, call my assistant Adrienne at 314-630-2420.
