I’ve been working with a variation of HCG 2.0 for nearly 5 years now, so the positive response to the book is no surprise to me. My only regret is that I didn’t write it sooner. If you’re unfamiliar with the HCG diet, it’s a hormone produced during pregnancy to rally the metabolization of systemic fats in order to provide a 24/7 calorie source for the growing fetus. If supplemented in the absence of a pregnancy and combined with a low calorie diet, it taps into unwanted fat stores allowing the diet to, quite literally, sustain themselves on their own stored fat. This provides for rapid weight loss.
The traditional HCG diet was developed almost 70 years ago, which was detailed in the manuscript Pounds and Inches; A New Approach to Obesity. The 70 year-old HCG diet still works, but there is a smarter way to lose, which is why I wrote HCG 2.0. Don’t punish yourself on the original diet. HCG 2.0 uses research in low-carb, ketosis dieting, advanced nutritional statistics and a BMR calculation to add “smart” calories to the diet so you don’t have to go to bed hungry. Here is a hint… protein is the key.
