First of all, when I wrote my book, HCG 2.0; A Modern Adaptation of the Traditional HCG Diet, it was nothing more than a patient education guide to accompany prescription HCG injections that were being prescribed by an MD I was partnered with. I would handle the patient education and he would write the HCG prescriptions. In addition to HCG injections, we were also working with prescription HCG pellets which were quite new to the market at the time. Now their more commonly know as “sublinguals.”
My partner and I had a great practice. We did a bit of everything, but soon word of our weight loss success began to circulate and our practice slowly morphed from a cool multi-disciplinary thing into strictly weight loss. Honestly, we were soon filling our days with nothing but weight loss patients who came to hear about the HCG diet. Many had friends or family member that had success on the diet and they wanted to try for themselves.
On occasion, quite frequently actually, we’d get patients that would come in and ask for the HCG diet drops that their friend had purchased, not the prescription HCG injections that we were selling for $450. The conversation was always the same – new patient would walk, “my friend or brother or sister or neighbor lost 25 pounds on HCG diet drops that they bought online or down the street and paid only $100.” My medical director and I would talk ourselves in circles about the benefits to prescription HCG Vs. homeopathic HCG drops, but in all honesty, we didn’t have an argument. Most Homeopathic HCG drops work. Sure, we were getting great results too, but our results were costing patients about $15 per pound. You do the math.
So rather than continue to turn away patient after patient because they couldn’t afford our product (In our defense, we didn’t set the price. Prescription HCG is made by small boutique compounding pharmacies for individualized use so the costs are high) we decided to do some research and we found an FDA approved homeopathic manufacturer that made an excellent HCG diet drops product. In fact, the homeopathic HCG drops (the drops we’re still retailing today) worked just as good as our high dollar injections.
The good news is that I’m still retailing the same HCG diet drops I was back in 2009. And the better news is that patients are still losing a ton of weight and they don’t have to tap into their retirement accounts to do it.
All that being said, there are situations when I’ll suggest a patient use the prescription HCG injections. By the way, I’m now partnered with Nu Image Medical. They do tele-medicine VERY well and provide an excellent prescription HCG product.
3 Reason Prescription HCG Injections Might Be a Better Option than the HCG Drops
You’ve had diffuculty losing weight in the past. First of all, if you’ve had trouble losing weight in the past, I’d redommend going to your family practitioner for a full metabolic panel. This will tell you if you have any underlying conditions that would prevent you from losing weight. Most commoneyly, this would be some sort of primary or secondary thyroid condition that can be easily treated. If all is well with your metabolic panel and you think something stronger will give you better peice of mind as you enter into the diet, then by all means go for the prescription HCG product.
You’ve completed multiple rounds of the HCG diet using HCG drops and you’re starting see limited return with each new round. It’s not uncommon for your body to acclimate to the HCG hormone. In fact, that’s the reason you’re advised to take time off in between rounds, in order to counter-act this. So if you’ve done 3 rounds within a year’s time and you still have a bit to lose, you may want to switch to a more potent product, which would be the prescription HCG. This brings me to my next point…
You’re struggling with that last 10-15 pounds. As you may be experiencing, it’s tough losing that last 10-15 lbs. At this point you’ve stolen nearly all of your body’s fat reserves and your skinny little body is determined to hang on to rest – Time to bring out the big guns. Load properly and go with the prescription HCG injections. This isn’t to say that you couldn’t get there with my HCG drops, but pay a little extra for the peice of mind that the HCG shots will provide.
